i love to read magazines. i'm subscribed to way too many...the list includes glamour (MY FAVORITE), lucky, cosmo, teen vogue, food network (ahahaha i know), real simple (my other absolute favorite), seventeen, marie claire and some others. yeah, i know.
i feel like some i outgrew a LONG time ago (read: seventeen, teen vogue)...but for some reason, i never cancelled my subscriptions. i guess it's because every so often i come across SOMETHING i like in them...and as much as i love the internet, i love having something in print to read. plus, seventeen has freebies every so often ;o)
but... some of this month's magazines covers just didn't do it for me. i don't know if it's because i'm particularly picky for some reason, or it's just my taste. some of you may have loved these covers and i totally understand. if you loved them, voice your opinion. i can handle it - it's not like i'm on any of the covers! ahaha. let's respect each other's opinions though, mmmmkay? kay.

i'm too old for the disney channel. and she's clearly trying to prove the same thing. it's not that i don't like her - honestly, i don't know any of her movies, shows, etc - but i just don't get this spread at all. the fake cat ears? cats on the cover? that..uh..shirt? like...come on. if you want to revamp your image, there's a ton of other ways to do it. and look a lot better. you're a pretty girl, vanessa! i want to know you for something other than dating zac efron! i have faith in her. do! better! next! time! lol

confession time. when i took the cover out of my mailbox, i honestly did not who was on the cover. my mind immediately thought whoever that was KINDA looked like justin bieber. i'm not feeling this look for dakota. also, a minor complaint...i KNOW she's another one trying to show how grown up she is (shhh, dakota! you make me feel old!) but there's other ways to do that (i sound like a broken record). she's still relatively young - SHE belongs on the cover of seventeen. i doubt readers of marie claire are some of her biggest fans OR can relate to her. i DO like dakota..but not on this cover. and i also do like her blazer.

I love InStyle, Lucky, and Allure. I get Teen Vogue and Seventeen as well. But it's rare that I find anything interesting in them, especially Seventeen. But like you, I just can't manage to cancel my subscription. Plus, I love having a bunch of magazines to read! :)
I love Britney, but she definitely looks a mess on that cover. :(

I don't really read magazines, but if I do, it's usually Nylon.
Personally, I dislike most magazine covers these days, they all seem the same to me.

I only look at Lucky and People Stylewatch. Most of the others have nothing to do with what I want to read.

Haha, Vanessa annoys me, but I liked Dakota's cover pic - although her hair looks sort of weird to me.
I also subscribe to way too many magazines as well haha.
Personally, I LOVE the Vanessa cover because I adore her style! That said, the Dakota cover irked me because I'm over the whole celebrities proclaiming that "I'm not a little girl anymore" thing. I mean, hello, didn't Britney do that, like, TEN years ago? Also, Britney on Cosmo...I think a WAY better picture could have been used. In the words of Tyra Banks..."she completely lost her neck in that photograph." :/
I think Vanessa is gorgeous and I'm not going to lie..I was kind of happy when I pulled this magazine out of the mailbox because those cats are just SOO adorable. But then I realized this was Glamour magazine and I was just kind of confused as to why there were kittens on the cover.
I really like the cover with Dakota on it but I hate the "I'm not a little girl anymore" quote. If you're not a little girl prove it! You don't have to tell us.
And Britney...oh dear lord Britney.
I looooove magazines! Together, we'll keep the publishing companies in business! I thought the Dakota and Brit covers looked weird, too, although it pains me to say because I have such love for Britney.

Yea i was actually thinking the same thing. I don't read magazines that much, but as a dying industry they need to step up their game with the covers. It seems like they are getting progressively worse. Like the creepy cats? Who's idea was that??

I am a big fan of Glamour...but not liking Vanessa as their cover girl at all! She hasn't done anything productive since High School Musical, so why is she on a cover? Because her BF is coming out with a movie? LAME!!

Yeah I used to be so addicted! Now it's Allure, Teen Vogue, and Glamour! (Seventeen got on my nerves!) The Glamour one is definitely befuddling. I mean, seriously, Vanessa's got good style most of the time, it would have been nice to see her in a spread relating to that...

Phew, these covers are weird! and what have they done to Britney??? The last few years more and more of my subscriptions have landed by the wayside. All that's left now is the monthly Vogue - which frees me up to check out new publications.
yeah, not a fan of Britney Spears. I know they want her to have this casual mom look but they could have done a lot better like accessorize it more. And Vanessa Hudgens holding the kittens is kind of too highschool musical cheesy.... LOL I'm like you, I think I also outgrew them but once in a while when I'm flipping through them I see an editorial I like so I keep them!
um... yeah... these all suck. britney looks retarded... how did anyone ever think that it would be OK to put that picture on a news stand?!

haha hilarious post! i think the problem with the first two covers is that these ladies seem to young to be on womens magazines. it's just a bit too weird. and as for britney - you are right about the photoshop mess.
I agree they are not the best magazine covers...but most likely you grew out of this and you should be really happy for that :-)

I just finished reading In Style and Lucky. Those plus Real Simple and Glamour are the only ones I read. I can't even tell you the last time I read Cosmo. I seriously think I was 18.
