scents.

one of the things that i get told a lot is "you smell REALLY good!" .. which to me, is almost if not a better compliment than telling me i have nice shoes, my hair looks cute, etc etc. you can be the most attractive, well dressed person..but if you don't smell nice..well. i think we all know where i'm going lol.

i looked at all of the perfume bottles that i have and felt kind of inspired to do a post about what i used to like and what i currently adore. i'll link them all back to sephora since it's probably the easiest place to find fragrances (and i think they have some sort of shipping deal going on!)

ralph by ralph lauren
found here

this was one of the first perfumes that i picked out by myself. haha. funny how scents always bring back memories, huh? it's that perfect, beachy summer scent. i'm pretty sure i went through five bottles of this in my early teens. i think it'll always be a classic scent, which is probably why it's been around for so long.

aquolina pink sugar
found here

i don't think i've ever met someone who DIDN'T like this scent. to me, it always smells like cotton candy. the only downside is it can be a bit sickeningly sweet, a little too young and it wears off pretty quickly. i remember wearing it to the mall and my friends and i would go back to sephora and spray it on again. i was totally a mall rat - at least a good smelling one though, haha.

harajuku lovers
found here, here, here, here and here

honestly, i bought the entire set of these because i love gwen stefani, i loved the whimsical packaging and they were buy one get one free at nordstrom (i know, right?!). each bottle is super cute (or should i say kawaii?). "g" smells like coconut. i usually don't even like coconut but for some reason i really liked this scent. probably because it had a bit of magnolia undertones. i like the other four scents as well. they wear pretty well but i don't find myself using them a lot. i guess they're more of a decoration for me.

juicy couture viva la juicy
found here

i'll be honest, i did not like the first scent by juicy at all. it totally wasn't my taste. when this came out, i was instantly attracted to the packaging (i! can't! resist! bows!). it became my favorite and signature scent last summer. it's fruity and floral without being too much and it lasts the entire day. my co-worker (who is considerably older) would compliment me every day whenever i wore it. she was at the point where she wanted to buy a bottle for herself ... and called it 'juicy juice' ... lol. it's still one of my favorite scents but i don't wear it as often because of my new favorite.

michael kors very hollywood
found here

this is my absolute favorite scent ever. i know i've fallen in love with different perfumes in the past (as you can obviously tell) but this is the first scent that i've come across that is completely "me". i've talked about this briefly in the past and i still absolutely beyond adore adore adore it.

i hinted really late that i wanted this for christmas because i LOVED the gift set from macy's ... and honestly, because i loved the ring and i love michael kors beyond belief. i had never actually seen/smelled the perfume in person..but i love michael kors (do i need to even repeat that again?) it definietly lives up to its name. it's a very glamorous scent. sephora describes it as "seductive, captivating, luxurious." i think that's the best way to word it.

neutrogena rainbath
found here and here (but you can find it basically everywhere, lol)

okay, i know...this totally isn't a perfume..BUT along with very hollywood, it's one of my favorite scents ever.

it is definitely one of my essentials and i honestly don't know how i ever went without using it.

i have fairly sensitive skin. i used to have to resort to using baby body wash, seriously. and even that bothered me. i always used to see the big box for rainbath at BJ's .. so being a lover of pretty much all things neutrogena, i gave in and bought it. since i've started using it, i haven't used anything else. it's described as "unique fragrance of spices, fruits and herbs" .. honestly, i can't pinpoint it myself..but i just LOVE the scent. i can wear this and even if i skip perfume, i still smell really good. or so i'm told. lol :p

apparently, i like woodsy, floral scents and cute packaging...but the bigger question is...

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SCENTS?

I love Very Hollywood. Well, I love basically anything Michael Kors. I don't use it, but I got it for my mom for Christmas. She loves it. It smells so good!

I've been using Dolce & Gabbana's The One for quite some time now. I alternate it with a few others, but The One is my favorite right now. :)

Adidas Moves & Paris Hilton's Heiress ~ Weird I Know

I'll admit that the bottle design does play a part on whether I'll try a new scent. I love Gwen and all but I was disappointed with the scent of Harajuku Lovers. It was too heavy.

We must be the same age or about because Ralph was the very first scent I wore...oh memories!

Britney Spears' Fantasy always reminds me of my semester abroad in Florence in 2006- I wore it all the time i was there. Recently my friend was wearing it, and it IMMEDIATELY took me back to that time...amazing!

I actually don't wear perfume. I've tried to get into it, but there are so many different options that it's just too over whelming.

I've been wearing Viktor & Rolf "Flowerbomb" as my signature scent for a few years now. I love the soft scent and it doesn't give me headaches!! I am starting to get bored though and maybe in the market for a new scent. These all sound like great suggestions!

Vanilla is my favorite scent on the planet; however, I am fully loyal to Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds when it comes to perfume - I constantly receive compliments on it! :)

I actually love all of these! The one I wear is surprisingly cheap for my expensive taste: Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace. It seriously smells amazing. My only complaint is that it doesn't last very long!

Awesome post!
I love fragrances, I have TONS (too many to count now) but my all time favourite is Dior Pure Poison. I just think it smells nice with my body chemistry. But I generally tend to like all dior fragrances.
I like very hollywood but I'm not a fan of the juicy couture fragrance!

I'm a Chanel girl, but I love branching out into other scents. I really adore the Juicy Couture perfume as well. But I am now dying to get the Very Hollywood perfume. It looks so glamorous and classy. And the way you described the scent, it sounds PERFECT! :)
