faux fix: primrose garden inspiration.

marc by marc jacobs primrose garden cotton sundress
sold out here

last year, i was in absolute and complete LOVE with the above dress from marc by marc jacobs. i used to stalk it on net-a-porter all of the time. however, i just couldn't give into such a high price tag of $430 without even seeing it. i didn't even know what size i'd be. i tried talking myself out of even looking at it anymore, but i went back to it time and time again and searched high and low for an inspiration piece.

mossimo supply co sleveless floral dress - purple
found here

yesterday at target, i had one of those moments where i want to squeal and jump up and down in the store (don't pretend it hasn't happened to you!). this dress IMMEDIATELY caught my eye but i almost shouted "MARC JACOBS!". obviously, it's not an exact dupe...but considering it's friendly price tag of $21.99 plus very similar inspired print, it's by far one of my favorite faux fixes that i've ever done on this site. it's also available in another color here ... and at that price, you may just want to snag both. i love everything about this girly, floral dress, even the bow detailing that is meant for the front (although you can rock it in the back ala the primrose dress).

even though it's juniors sizing i found it to be true to size, btw :o)

(ps: props to target..the stock photos are looking a bit better than usual)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS FAUX FIX?

It's pretty damn close. Although I can never tell until I actually touch the fabric. But who cares? You can still be fashionable and affordable!

Personally I think it's cuter, because its not babydoll but around the waist, so it's far more flattering. And I feel like target is fashion world's super man. I can just hear the "da dada DA"! It always has something amazing!

I love the Marc Jacobs dress, and I have also seen this one at Target. The Target dress is so short, did you notice. This dress is more Bumpkin than you know, but would have to be paired with capris, the length is too young for my age! We likey the same style, this should be fun!

I love love the M by MJ dress but the Target dress is a fabulous find!

It's sooooo close! What an excellent find, my dear! I also would have gotten really excited. I had a blast at Target a few nights ago putting together a care package for a friend that included a huge bouncy ball and a squirt gun. Just felt like sharing.

I saw that dress at Target just yesterday. I thought it was cute; but not something I wanted. There was something about the print that made me think 'Little House on the Prairie." I think I'd prefer the Marc by Marc Jacobs one myself! :)

btw - it is a biiiit short but i'm like a hairline under 5'2 so it really isn't short on me. i could see taller girls having a problem.
