JPG for target!

my obsession for limited edition designer collaborations is bad...really bad. i'm usually a sucker for all of them, especially those at target.

(and liberty of london comes out next week! EEEEK!)

the jean paul gaultier (which will further be referred to as JPG, because it will wind up driving me nuts having to type that out) collection is coming out tomorrow. i'm not sure if my target is going to carry it as this is supposedly available only at limited stores (think anna sui, not rodarte).

truth is - i usually order online anyway. i prefer it. i buy a few sizes if i'm unsure as well. thankfully, target has a fabulous return policy. plus, i get 10% off when i use triple a online! can't beat that :o)

and honestly ... it drives me nuts wanting an item really badly and you try EVERY FREAKING STORE to find it ... much like the anna sui ruffle coat (which did have a happy ending, but still. i stalked target and their website...and may have wrote an email to customer service saying i needed it in my life...really.)

i know most of you have probably seen pictures of the collection BUT here's my assessment of what i plan to buy/try/pass up!

left: i need that trench in my life. i really love the color of it (from seeing it online anyway) and i read in a magazine that it is perfect for petites. i have a feeling this will be a very popular item from this collection. i can't tell if i'm feeling the dress underneath because i can't see it!

center: in this picture, the jacket looks nice but in other pictures it looked a bit crinkly. it's also $200. i have spent $150 on a leather jacket at target but i'm not sure if i could actually stomach $200. and i love me some target. i may buy this to try on for the blog and nothing more. underneath is a bathing suit and something called a necklace tank. not feeling it.

right: really pretty print but i don't love the rolled collar. it's a toss up if i'm going to buy this to even try. i wish that belt was for sale though - STUDS!

left: that's a mesh tattoo print shirt, people. i'm not judgey..maybe it could work for some people, but definitely not me. the yellow dress is cute but i can't imagine how it would look on a busty girl like myself. also, the full skirt is going to add too much fullness for my hips. i think i'll be passing on this.

center: this is one of my favorite looks. the dress seems to be available in multiple colors. it's a total "me" dress lol .. aka i need it in each and every color in my closet. i love to wear those types of dresses and they're versatile. i do somewhat like the leather jacket but it's $200, like the other one.

right: meh. the skirt/bustier combo is cute but it definitely wouldn't work for me. and tattoo leggings? i don't think that works for me either.

left: this shirt, albeit cute, would annoy me with the side tie.

center: nothing spectacular. really, not much else to say.

right: also, not my style. at all.

left: i kept thinking this was a dress when i saw it in pictures, but it's actually a shirt, tank top and skirt. it looks pretty cute together but i have a feeling the twisted shoulder would annoy the heck out of me. i do like the skirt but i don't see myself having use for it. i think the skirt will be a try it piece.

center: meh. not interested in any of the bathing suits, to be honest. the cardigan is okay, i will definitely buy it to try it but not sure if it's a winner until i see it in person.

right: is the green dress so terrible that it wasn't styled alone ONCE in all of these pics? (lol) i really like the black strapless dress that they layered over it though, so i'll be trying that piece out.

left: this is basically everything that i've already talked about, mushed together. again, not not not feeling those leggings.

center: oh look, it's the black strapless dress again! in bigger photos, like found here, you can see the really pretty detailing. cute shirt underneath but not my style.

right: meh. cute print, but again i don't think the fullness would work for me.

left: a tattoo dress...that you can wear with your tattoo shirt and leggings. lol. let me stop there.

center: hm, i wonder how that patterned dress looks alone. maybe a try piece.

right: i love the cut outs on that top but i don't think it would be a practical addition to my closet as i definitely couldn't wear it to my job lol

left: i'm in love with this shirt style dress and have been trying to find the perfect one for a while. i have high hopes for this dress, although i think i'd have to wear leggings underneath lol. also, it may be too baggy and not fit my body type correctly. ...so much for high hopes haha

right: not my style, again..but i could see the pieces working on their own.

I love the trench and the shirt dress. But I want to see actual persons wearing them first before I buy. You know how it is with the designer collaborations. Have a great day! xoxo

Thanks for sharing all these pics. I've only seen a few images, like the great, yellow dress. I can't wrap my mind around $200 on a leather at Target, but JPG...maybe.

The leather jacket and the trench are my favorites; though I really can't imagine buying anything from this collection myself. I adore it, but the prices are kind of ridiculous for Target. :/

I quite like the pink floral dress in the first picture. And of course, you can't go wrong with a good ol' trench.
The Erin Fetherstone for Target collection had some beautiful pieces. I just wish the Target collabs reflected the guest designer's style more - i.e. I wish this looked more like a typical JPG collection. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Haha.
