image via flickr (not my hands. lol)
we ALL have that one part of their bodies that they hate, whether we'd like to admit it or not.
for me? it's my hands, especially during the winter.
i know. get real. big deal about your hands, tee.
anyone who has terrible, terrible hands like me in the winter knows that it IS a big deal. my hands get to such extremes that they dry and crack to the point where i have little cuts all over my hands that bleed at any given time and are painful as EFF. add in the fact that i use my hands a lot for writing, typing and baking and it makes it even worse. disgusting? YES. (tmi? yup.)
i do contribute to the problem by washing my hands unhumanely amounts of times per day. my dad teases me and says that i look like i'm prepping for surgery because i wash them so much. i also bake a LOT ... which includes kneading doughs, too much flour on my skin and wayyy too much washing my hands (again.)
i have tried everything to alleviate the problem. i am not a fan of lotion (what type of girl am i?) because i hate having a greasy feel on my hands. i try to sleep with gloves but my hands feel trapped (again, what type of girl am i? plus, i need to get my text on and gloves prohibit that. i even tried snipping the fingers off but it doesn't help lolol). i have tried EVERY type of lotion from the average drugstore brand, to salon quality to even prescription. nothing works.

my dad bought me the gold bond ultimate hand sanitizer (pictured above). it has the claims of being an alcohol free (read: it doesn't dry out your skin) sanitizer that feels like a lotion. pfffffbt, i thought. i didn't have too much hope since nothing else has worked in the past.
um...
i've been using it for about two weeks now and i have to say, my hands have never been so soft...ever. they no longer look like the hands of a ninety year old. i no longer feel the need to hide my hands during class because i'm embarrassed of how they look.
to say a product has changed your life is dramatic. i really reserve this for the BEST of the BEST. i have to admit, this product is absolutely AMAZING. it's not super super cheap, but it is WAY out of any league of other "sanitizer lotions" that i have tried in the past. it is worth every single penny just not to have my hands as gross as they looked and felt before.
i'd like to add in that gold bond did not send me this product. my dad bought it for me. i wrote this review on my own because this stuff really works (uhh.. i just realized that's their slogan on their website, but hey - they're completely right for claiming it!)
you can find it in a smaller, purse sized bottle pretty much everywhere..i think my dad bought it for me at the supermarket. you can also find it online here and here. i have one in my purse and one in my house. i recently bought the bigger size which you can also find pretty much everywhere, or online here and here.
it looks like walmart's website is offering a free sample...which i TOTALLY recommend signing up for!
wow, this is my 100th post! haha

I am sorry about your poor chapped winter hands, darling!
Will have to try that creme!

oh, i love free samples! :D
I haven't tried this, but I also have a problem with winter hands -- I can't stand lotion either. DiorShow Unlimited mascara has truly made my life so much better for nights out -- gives me lashes that should be illegal :)

Great post :) Mon Mode Blog
My hands aren't terrible, but my knuckles are super scaly and bloody in the winter, and I swear by Green Beaver Apres Ski Hand Balm. A bit greasy, but once you work it in, it's amazing.
Also, Congrats on 100!
I love free samples :D
I hate my hands during winter too... they look like an old lady's hand... kinda dry and wrinkly. Hahaha!
I didn't you know you were a baker!! You learn something new everyday ;o) I don't hate my hands, but they're always awfully ashy!
