conversations hearts! ; day 12 (1 of 2) - top men's gift ideas for valentine's day

By: Ina - My Vogue

Are you excited about the coming Valentine’s Day or you think it is just a stupid romantic holiday and we don’t need a special day to show love and appreciation? I agree love is not for just one day and we should demonstrate it more often, but I like Valentine’s Day – it’s sweet and romantic and is another reason to celebrate the most beautiful feeling! Because sometimes people are too busy in their routine, they need a reminder that love actually does exist and there is somebody out there waiting for a little attentionAnyway, for me the best part of the holiday are the presents. And I love getting gifts but mostly I love to give. Especially if I picked up something nice that will make the other person very happy and thrilled. I know usually people buy for Valentine’s Day chocolates, balloons and teddy bears. But why not get our closest people a really nice gift? Something they will remember and know that you wanted to make them feel special and loved. Since I am together with my husband for five years and also have two brothers I am kind a specialist into men’s presents. That’s why I wanted to create a long and useful list for you, dear ladies, with the top 10 gift ideas for your men for Valentine’s Day. And here I start:

1. The practical gift – that’s the easiest and shows you really know the person you love. So, you are aware that he needs or wants something very bad? What are you waiting - just get it for him. I promise you will make him the happiest person on Earth!

2. My latest obsession is getting my close people designer’s apparel – shoes or clothes. Because everybody likes that stuff but usually we don’t feel like spending so much money about ourselves, right? The other day I saw an amazing pair of Charles David sandals for $50 at TJ Maxx, but I didn’t buy them as 1st I can get shoes cheaper and 2nd I don’t really need sandals in the middle of the winter. But if somebody buys those for me I will be so thrilled J. As I said: we all like designer’s apparel, so I think that’s the perfect gift! And with stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Ross we don’t really need to spend that much money.

3. I am pretty sure all men like big bad ass watches. Last year when I was going back home my older brother asked to bring him TWO watches – one for every day and one for the “formal occasions”. So you won’t go wrong with getting your boyfriend a nice watch. If you wonder where from – 6pm.com with their amazing one day sales is a great place to shop, only you have to be very efficient as products go out of stock quickly. Another source is amazon.com - that's the place I got really good deals on my bro's watches.

4. Lately more and more men are into jewelry. Some even have more bracelets and rings on them than the average woman. So if your guy is all about fancy jewelry, make him happy with a new silver chain or another fashion accessory. I have to admit though - I don’t know where to shop for men’s jewelry – anybody? Help?

5. Perfume/cosmetics – you’ve noticed his favorite perfume or aftershave balm is almost over – well that’s a great opportunity to get him a new one! Or if you are tired of his favorite one, why not experiment with something different. My favorite online stores for fragrances and cosmetics are fragranceX.com and strawberrynet.com. I’ve also seen tons of discounted designers perfumes at TJ Maxx.

Thanks, this is a very good guide. I never know what to buy my bf and I still don't know what to get him for Valentine's Day so I hope I can incorporate this guide into my shopping. I think a practical gift is good. I often feel it is not romantic but I know he will really like it so that is most important. I also like the idea of watches and jewellery. I have bought that on a few ocassions over the past couple of years and it has been successful.
