i'm one of the first people to complain when stores start having christmas items in july. but when this time of year rolls around? i am so effing ready.

i absolutely LOVE the christmas season, and not just because it's an excuse to shop. everything is different. things are decorated. there's sales (duh). and people generally are a bit nicer. i just really love the christmas season and the spirit that comes about with it.

today's thanksgiving, but tomorrow officially marks the countdown until christmas for me. once the turkey's done, it's time to prepare for christmas. i'm trying to be a good girl regarding spending this year and i'm totally analyzing all of my purchases to make sure i don't buy in excess this year. i've mentioned that i do like to pick a few gifts out for myself because really, only you know your own style, not your mom, dad, boyfriend, sister, whoever. i also love little surprises and i cannot wait until christmas morning (which brings about another type of christmas high if you ask me).

oh, and christmas time = cookie baking. 'nuff said.

a bit of a birthday update.

i always like to call the weekend before or of my birthday my birthday weekend extravaganza. after all, birthdays only come once a year and they are definitely worth celebrating to the fullest extent ;o)

this year i kept it pretty low key. i went to the tenth largest shopping mall in the country and saw a christmas carol in 3D/imax because honestly, it's one of my favorite holiday movies (along with elf of course). the mall has four levels. and they're all effing huge.

we were passing payless on the way out and i couldn't help but check for the red boots that have been haunting me since the oprah 50% coupon. as i walked in, i also saw the christian siriano flats that i eyed up during that trip as well. they didn't have my size then, but they had my size on display. i checked the boots and they also had them in my size. ...and of course, i haaaad to buy both because how can you refuse BOGO 50% off? really? can any woman refuse this type of deal? so i'm now happily the owner of these babies...er..shoes.

i don't believe i posted about this, but on my birthday my madden girl by steven madden elviraa boots came in the mail. ugh, i was so disappointed with these. such a beautiful color but i didn't like the design or material in person which is weird because i loved the material on the other madden girl by steven madden boots i bought. but whatevs, because endless has a fabulous return policy lol

for my birthday, i had a nice and relaxing day. i also stopped by the mothership to look around since i had a few gift cards. i wound up snagging a gorgeous gold michael kors bag and two animal print dresses which i am so psyched to wear.

i've always raved about the rack's amazing prices so let me tell you about the deals i got during this trip

the michael kors bag's tag says it retailed for $398 ... i got it for $98.99... minus about $95 worth of gift cards which makes the deal even better. they have a great selection (bags that retail for like $500 were $200, $1000 for $500, etc etc). i saw more michael kors bags that retailed for $398 and $368 but they were marked as $198. perhaps i got lucky with my bag - i reaaaaally love it! that shade of gold is one of my favorites for accessories.

these dresses (i bought one in black and white print also) were marked down from $44 to $22 ... and i could not pass it up! i love the shape/structure/pattern of these dresses. i'm not sure where i can wear them yet though lol .. perhaps i can get use out of them during the holiday season

i've missed blogging this past week and i've missed everyone. thank you for the birthday wishes! also, i'm proud to announce that i actually won something from one of my favvvvoorite bloggers - erika at cafe fashionista!. i'm so excited!

1. i remember when the spice girls broke up. this kid in my class told me and i didn't believe him. i think i remember telling him that i hated him ;P ginger was my favorite and i actually got to meet her! i was either seven or eight and i remember taking a picture but i have no idea where it is

2. i'm a speed reader. i have a million magazine subscriptions and i get bored with them easily. yay for blogs! 

3. if i had to describe myself using movie characters, i'd say that i'm part rebecca bloomwood and part elle woods

4. i created a livejournal in the beginning of my senior year of high school because i was determined to write in it every day so i could look back on my year. unsuccessful.

5. i LOVE pedicures but hate manicures. i feel trapped when i can't use my hands haha :o(

6. i love traveling but i love being in my own bed, ya know what i mean?

7. i really don't have patience for makeup :o( i wish i did lol ... i know, what kind of girl am i? i usually only wear lipgloss.

8. i love taking showers at 2 am. i dunno why. lol

i really love topshop.

for years, i wanted to order from them. i believe they only used to ship to the UK or the shipping rates were outrageous. but then last year i noticed they allowed american currency and it was just in time for a gorgeous kate moss cardigan that i was eying up. i wound up buying both colors because the cardigans were of really good quality, so comfy and honestly...they kinda make me feel british ;)
